I decided to write to one of the authors of the paper to ask a question because, well, why not?
I asked Dr. Freeman if she knew of any simple, universal screening like this currently in use and whether it's something that providers or clinics could create on their own. She responded saying that she is not aware of a screening like this in use, but that I or physicians could use the one provided or create one that is consistent with the DSM criteria.
So I made this into a usable form for you, reader, to use if you suspect you have PMDD or would like to hand it over to someone else. Click below to download.
I would absolutely love to create a downloadable screening like this for healthcare providers to use but seeing as I'm not credentialed in any way, they probably would not even give it a second thought. But at least it may give every day people like us a starting point if needed.
Remember, if it comes out that you may have PMDD after using this screening, start tracking your symptoms if you don't already do that.
